SSL- Secure Sockets Layer provides a secure connection, allowing you to transmit private data online. Sites secured with SSL display a padlock in the browsers URL and possibly a green address bar if secured by an EV SSL certificate.The SSL protocol is used by millions of e-Business providers to protect their customers ensuring their online transactions remain confidential.
Sites will get SSL encryption to cover any area that involves an exchange of data including login boxes, credit card payments, or any personal information.

TECHNOPARK Phase III

Technopark Trivandrum - the most modern and beautiful IT campus in Kerala. It’s  Phase III, is currently under construction. Soon, Technopark will deliver its latest phase, making Kerala the land of the largest IT parks in India.

Google Summer of Code

Google Summer of Code is a global program that offers student developers stipends to write code for various open source software projects. They have worked with several open source, free software, and technology-related groups to identify and fund several projects over a three month period. Since its inception in 2005, the program has brought together nearly 5,500 successful student participants and over 3000 mentors from over 100 countries worldwide, all for the love of code. Through Google Summer of Code, accepted student applicants are paired with a mentor or mentors from the participating projects, thus gaining exposure to real-world software development scenarios and the opportunity for employment in areas related to their academic pursuits. In turn, the participating projects are able to more easily identify and bring in new developers.

A Brand name is built up over years with great effort. However through the internet a new brand may suddenly develop and compete or even kill an existing brand through certain web based propaganda which fast catches up. With the emergence of internet it is now possible to create a powerful new brand within less time. Creation of these new brands can easily overshadow those that have been well established in other media.This is known as  Brand Hijacking. To avoid this, brands are to be established globally using the Net as a media.

Sony to release 3D Headset

Sony to release 3D Headset: Sony have unveiled the HMZ-T1, a personal 3D headset, which allows users to watch 2D or 3D videos, play games and listen to music.
The sci-fi looking device has a processing unit that plugs into a Blu-ray disc player or game machine to give the user the full 3D experience along with the several integrated speakers.

Apple's keyless keyboard

Apple has patented a design for a keyless keyboard.
The glass topped design features no moving parts but instead works using acoustic and piezo-electric sensors.
The system compares sounds made by tapping of the screen to a database of signatures determining which key is being used.
The keyboard would still display the traditional Qwerty keys but three sensors within the keyboard would be “sufficiently precise” to triangulate the position of the tap said the patent filing.

World IPv6 Day

World IPv6 Day takes place on June 8 to highlight  transformation to ipv6 and encourage all website and IP network operations personnel to test their readiness for transitioning to IPv6 network infrastructure.

 Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Akamai and Limelight Networks will be among some of the major organizations that will offer their content over IPv6 for a 24-hour test flight. The goal of the Test Flight Day is to motivate organizations across the industry -- Internet service providers, hardware makers, operating system vendors and web companies -- to prepare their services for IPv6 to ensure a successful transition as IPv4 addresses run out.

Brain Fingerprinting

Brain Fingerprinting is a forensic science technique that uses electroencephalography to determine whether specific information is stored in a subject’s brain. It does this by measuring electrical brainwave responses to words, phrases, or pictures that are presented on a screen.
The technique uses the well known fact that an electrical signal known as P300 is emitted from an individual's brain beginning approximately 300 milliseconds after it is confronted with a stimulus of special significance. The application of this in brain fingerprinting is to detect the P300 as a response to stimuli related to the crime or other investigated situation, e.g., a murder weapon, victim's face, or knowledge of the internal workings of a terrorist cell. The person to be tested wears a special headband with electronic sensors that measure the EEG from several locations on the scalp.
Since brain fingerprinting uses cognitive brain responses and is fundamentally different from the polygraph (lie-detector), which measures emotion-based physiological signals such as heart rate, sweating, and blood pressure.

Orkut Buyukkokten is a software engineer who developed the social networking service Orkut
Originally from Konya Büyükkökten obtained a B.Sc. degree in Computer Engineering and Information Science from Bilkent University in Ankara, and earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University. His research at Stanford focused on Web search and efficient PDA usage.
He developed Orkut.com as a 20% independent project while working In late June 2004. Orkut is a social networking website that is owned and operated by Google Inc. The service is designed to help users meet new friends and maintain existing relationships. The website is named after its creator, Orkut Büyükkökten. Although Orkut is less popular in the United States than competitors Facebook and MySpace, it is one of the most visited websites in India and Brazil, as of April 2010, 48.0% of Orkut's users are from Brazil, followed by India with 39.2% and United States with 2.2%.

Red Taction

Red Tacton is a Human Area Networking technology, which is under development, that uses the surface of the human body as a safe, high speed network transmission path. It is completely distinct from wireless and infrared technologies as it uses the minute electric field emitted on the surface of the human body.
A transmission path is formed at the moment a part of the human body comes in contact with a RedTacton transceiver. Communication is possible using any body surfaces, it also works through shoes and clothing as well. When the physical contact gets separated, the communication is ended.
Using RedTacton-enabled devices, music from a digital audio player in your pocket would pass through your clothing and shoot over your body to headphones in your ears.

Hawk-Eye

Hawk-Eye is a complex computer system used in cricket,tennis and other sports to visually track the path of the ball and display a record of its most statistically likely path as a moving image. It is also used in some instances to predict the future path of a ball in cricket. It was developed by engineers at Roke Manor Rearch Limited in the UK, in 2001. All Hawk-Eye systems are based on the principles of triangulation  using the visual images and timing data provided by at least four high-speed video cameras located at different locations and angles around the area of play. The system rapidly processes the video feeds by a high-speedvideo processor and ball tracker. A data store contains a predefined model of the playing area and includes data on the rules of the game.

Hyper Sonic Sound Technology

Hyper Sonic Sound (HSS) is a sound-generation technology that broadcasts your message directly to your intended audience. In contrast to conventional loudspeakers, HSS technology uses a directional ultrasonic column to produce sound exactly where you want it. Sound does not spread to the sides or rear of an HSS unit, eliminating the problem of uncomfortable and unwanted noise pollution produced by conventional speakers. Sound is directed only where it is intended to go. Visualize two people standing four feet apart at an art exhibit. One patron listens to a biography of a sculpture artist, while the other contemplates a painting in complete silence! HSS is like handing someone a set of head phones. Grace Murray Hopper

Grace Murray Hopper(1906 - 1992) was an American computer scientist and United States Navy officer. She was one of the first programmers of the Harvard Mark I computer, and developed the first compiler for a computer programming language. She conceptualized the idea of machine-independent programming languages, which led to the development of COBOL, one of the first modern programming languages. She is credited with popularizing the term "debugging" for fixing computer glitches . Because of the breadth of her accomplishments and her naval rank, she is sometimes referred to as "Amazing Grace".
